The Benin Youth Employment Project is part of a global strategy adopted by the Government of Benin to fight poverty by reducing unemployment and underemployment. The World Bank-financed Youth Employment Project aims to improve access to employment skills and employment opportunities for underemployed youth in Benin, in particular in the agro-processing, craftsmanship and tourism sectors. An impact evaluation (IE) of the PEJ is planned and will focus on two components of the youth employment project: the provision of training and the provision of cash grants for business support. IERPE will carry out all the data collection process as part of this Baseline stage.
